75 series tray mounts.

Post by Dane »

I recently purchased a tray out of the local paper advertised to suit a 75 series cab chassis. The bloke had two 75 series in his yard so I took his word for it that it fitted a 75. Upon lowering it onto the back of my '96 model yesterday only two chassis mounts lined up on the tray with the rear ones out by miles and the front ones requiring new base plates to get a bolt in. I only bought the crappy tray because it would bolt right on whilst I built my new one and now that it doesn't fit I'm gonna take it back to old mate.

What I want to know is, is there any difference in chassis/tray mounts over 75 series production (1985 to 1997 ish) that may account for this discrepancy? Could the tray be off an '86 and just not fit my '96, or is a 75 a 75 in that regard.

Thanks for your assistance.

Cheers Tooheys, I reckon you're on the money.

Rob, my idea of a temporary tray is 6-12 months of heavy use so more than two mounts would be required.

I took the tray back to old mate and he had no dramas refunding my money. Thanks for the feedback.
