bloody triton

Post by cwalkin »

hi guys,
Firstly- what a great site,,,just love it!

I have a 1994 triton 4x4 4d56 turbo diesel.
i had a fairly large hit on my tank and its now only 65litre from empty.
I had a tear in it that i could not stop with any tank repair stuff.
It was so tiny though! I ended up pulling the tank out and draining and flushing and then i soldered it up, No more leaking ,
Do you guys think that the solder will last?
Just used the normal solder that i use at work for welding aircon fittings. eg copper to brass or alloy.

also the tank i believe is in a really stupid spot and very prone to hitting. Is there any tank protectors that i can get for it?

cheers
daniel
