12-HT modifications in a 60 series: what works what doesn't?

Post by flyology »

I am just about to give my '87 VX HJ61 cruiser a work over. It was an auto, but I coverted it over to 5 speed a couple of years ago. (My little lady flatly refuses to drive an automatic!)

My cruiser has a few mods, 3"exhaust, (standard cast iron toyota dump pipe off turbo) K&N cleanable/reusable air filter, turbo timer, rear wheel carrier, cruise control, snorkel, dual batteries, ARB bullbar, IPF 800 series spotties. Plus the factory options high roof with sunroof, elect windows, elect mirrors, front bucket seats, dual aircons, drink chiller ice maker between seats, rear lsd.

I am keen to here from other 60/61 owners that have modded there rig, what has worked and what hasn't?

thanks,
