Hey all
There hasnt been much rain down here , just a shower or two each night maybe. Mud pit wont be run as part of the event but , may have some fun in it sat arvo between runs , time forgiving.
Park is open 24/7 and 4wding is sun-up to sun-down so you can come as early as day break sat morning. Competitors scrutineering will commence before 8am assembly is at 9am , drivers briefing is at 9:30 am officials briefing is at 10am whilst all can walk the tracks and action starts at 11am. Each run should take approx 3 hours. Run 2 starts at around 7pm (sat night) Sunday drivers briefing is at 8:30am with 9am start then a 12:30-1pm start for run four on Sunday afternoon. Finally then we will have presentation.
One of our sponsors have arranged a food van for lunch sat and sun and Johns famous Logan Night Run Hot dogs will be available Sat night. Drinks will be being sold all w/end to raise money for Careflight same as last year (water/juice/softdrink) at the first aid station.

i know im a bit late now:P (heading out to watch today tho)
but i think the penaltys for use of lockers is stupid.
my car has a factory locker, and without it im left with twin open diffs, this is a huge disadvantage over other nissans especially wich have awesome lsd's
anyways just a thought

good fun comp, thanks pete & your guys & gals out there all day and night.
I had alot of fun in the buggy, unfotunately got a bit stuck in the soft dirt at times but still managed to get around good! I tried my best to put on a bit of a show but couldn't go as nuts as i wanted due to the driveshaft just hanging in there. the tyre obstacles were a bit of fun as was the rock.
Pesky Pete will be happy that i flopped there this moning off to the left hand side, maybe power steering would have been helpful or maybe not.
The loud clunking from the front driveshaft was there all weekend, but the centre bearing mount finally gave out thisafetrnoon just before my last stage.
I'm sure the Mog eneded up winning in C class (driving the vertical rut for the first time) with Brett in the Austyre / Maxxis GQ ute coming in second and probably the white rangie coming in third (i don't think we made it to the podium)
We couldn't hang around for the presentation due to a heap- of hot and bothered kids, driver & navy just wanting to get food and get clean.
Thanks to Nottie for being my spotter, we worked great as a team and had a blast! Also cheers to Micka for letting us borrow his Eartec comms system. Congrats to all the guys and ladies in the other classes out there giving it a good go! It was great to see everyone having heaps of fun, Pete definitely suceeded in making it fun.

good show put on buy peter considering all the dramas he had early saturdy morning . you guys all put on a good show and good on the more expirianced guys for encorging the youg bloke in the zook that broke stuff on his way to the start. we had to bolt on sunday moring as or young fella was crook at home so we missed out on todays procidings but pete did well with what he had.

we had another fun weekend thanks to pete and all the officials for all the hard work so we can play .
thanks to grant my navi he did an awsome job all weekend and all the other competitors every one put on a good show for the spectators.
time to do a rebuild on the old truck its been copping a hard time for a while now so we hope to be ready for next round .
yes chris the placings were correct in c class . mick and the mog are a bit to good for us.
well done to darren in the advanti racing jeep to come away with 0 penalty points for the whole weekend was amazing and to ted in the advanti racing suzuki to win b lites was fantastic .
also the girls in the red gu in a class did a great job for there first time.

Well, we rocked up friday arvo, after negotiating the Gateway traffic ( ), got there, setup, went and yapped to a few people, then I went to sleep. Next morning, it was a buzz with all the trucks turning up, I didnt know what to do, so I ate my cocoa pops .
We got there around 9 for the briefings, walked the tracks, then headed back to the start to wait for the officials briefings. During this time, My father and I headed over to the other side to get some drinks. Coming back, I was going up an easy hill (that I had previously done a few times) when I hear this bang. I looked out the window to see part of my tailshaft out to the side. So, we rolled back and the tailshaft swung all the way over to the left, and tucked up under the zorst causing the back diff to lock up. So off I went to get someone to take me back to the office to get a replacement. I got back, just as the last car was starting (I still reckon they purposely stalled for time to let me start). I cant remember too much after that (I was having too much fun, either that or Im tired).
The night stages were good, till I came to The Rock, took the wrong line, and hit it too hard, and made the motor move, which resulted in the coil wire being ripped off, so it was dodgyfix #1. After that, I had 3 attempts at the hill (Which I wasnt happy about), and got it on the 3rd time.
Sunday came, we left camp around 6:30 with a few others, sat at The Rock gasbaggin for a while before things got underway.
Tracks were pretty much a reverse of the previous days tracks, which made things interesting for some tracks and cars.
On the last track of the 1st half of day 2, I snapped a tcase mount in half, so we went to the top gate to 'borrow' some fencing wire to tie it back into place (Its still there now ) and come back down to start the next session.
Before I started the very last stage, all bar 1 class a car was pulled up, and the 4 of us (3 class a cars, and Peter) were talking, and the other 2 class a drivers said that they were actually worried about a little buzzbox suzuki, and a L plate driver. I was later informed that I was actually winning at the end of the Saturday.
Started the last stage, when it felt different. I had no traction. So I (stupidly listening to the navi) used my 3 attempts. So I backed out, pulled up, and changed my CV in about 15-20mins. During this time, there were a few OOOOOOOOOOOOOOH's heard as some cars got air on the tyre pit. I never saw this as I had my head under the guard fixing the S##tbox.
I finally got it fixed, and did the stage in like 1-2mins. I wasnt stopping for no hole.
We pulled up at The Rock once again, for presentation. Started with class A. I got 4th ( ), the 2 girls in the Gu got 3rdd, and Cliff, and Col (I think thats who they were) got 2nd and 1st.
Then Peter said something about an award, and my name was read out again. So that was #1 for me. He went through the placings, then came to the other 2 awards. First one was for Best Damage. That went to a black Rangie that destructed a couple of coilover shocks.
The next one was Best Achievement award, which we had to vote out of the 4 on.
The first 3 were read out, then Peter read my achievement out, and I could barely hear. So that was award #2 for me.
Then the prizes were given out, and just as I was leaving, some random came up to me and congratulated me.
We headed back to camp to pack up, and I was takin the loaned spare off when I looked up to see the Mog's tow effie starting to roll down the hill, when MG ran after it but forgot to put the handbrake on in the Mog. SO that started taking off down the hill so I yelled out "Incoming MOG" to which someone from Avanti Racing moved a van, when I look up and the effie was rollin down the hill again. So I raced over to the door, tried lookin for the h'brake, looked up to see a nice (not so) shiny black patrol in front of me. So I tried missing it, but unfortunately hit it. Hit the back left wheel, and pushed it sideways for about 2ft. I got it stopped, and didnt take me hand off the brake pedal incase it took off again. Thankfully that was the only car/tent hit (The Mog was headed for my tent, of which my father was in packing up).
So yeah, that was all my excitement.
Damage:
1 busted tcase mount
1 busted tcase drum flange
1 destroyed cv.
Highbeam dont work, I now have a few more vibrations, noises, leaks, and the steering is sh!thouse.

yeah all in all was a good weekend
thought "i think i can" would have been in the B lites but oh well
would be good to get mine going good to go in b lites too
but yeah top weekend ... need some more bugs sorted out but they will be fixed over time
oh an pete ..... suggestion sheets would be an idea so you can get imput from everyone an not worry about trying to remeber it ... could just print it on the back of the rules sheet an leave a box at the office if any one want to suggest something

Yeah, would have liked to but unfortunately it is still broke from round 1 tough tracks and am lacking in funds to get it running, maybe in June if i dont break in again in Maythought "i think i can" would have been in the B lites but oh well
Dont worry midnight - Dean and Al will never stop jumping the tyre pitt, if Dean can anilate a motor two weeks before and still want to jump it i dont think anything will stop him - just plain crazy
