Hello all,
First post on this forum, bit of a sad one.
Have 96tdi disco which won't start My wife drove it home last night, I went to move it a couple of minutes later and no go.
Symptoms:
won't even turn over,
turning key to start just produces a solenoid type "click' from somewhere near the glove box,
each time you turn on the key, the glow plug light flashes on for about 1/2 sec, then goes out.
Have checked:
battery with multimeter - is fine,
removed earth lead from battery for 10 mins (is supposed to reset something electrical),
tried both key sets,
checked fuses 12, 13 & 17 -multi function unit, ignition feed glow plug/starter
Any suggestions will be much appreciated
Cheers,
Yockman

- and the problem was...
Stuck starter solenoid
After hours of fiddling, we called the RACT guy (local auto rescue organisation) he fiddled around for a bit, finally said "aha!", tapped the starter solenoid and smiles all round. If you ever need to do the same, it's under the manifold, with two black shrouded wires attached to it.
Cheers,
