G'day i've got 1.3L G13A, it has a factory 4-1 exhaust system, i was wondering if it'd make difference after fitting 4-2-1 extractor with the original exhaust system as it's nearly new?
Anyone done this method before and what's your experience?
cheers
andrew

Re: Exhaust question
Technically it will make a difference, but in reality no it wont be noticable. Fit the extractors and a descent 2 inch low restrictin exhaust to get a bit more go, and a nicer note. Fitting extractors is not much help if you exhaust wont let it flow well enough to make use of the scavaging effect the extractors generate.Mudsierra wrote:G'day i've got 1.3L G13A, it has a factory 4-1 exhaust system, i was wondering if it'd make difference after fitting 4-2-1 extractor with the original exhaust system as it's nearly new?

If you talking about the real factory header, ditch it and upgrade!!! the factory one has a tube inside the tube you see making the airway even tighter. (like trying to breath through a straw) Get an aftermarket header (extractor as your guys call it) and a cheap free flowing exaust I would go 2in - 2.25 piping. 2.5 inch is a bit to big and you lose useful torque. I feel 2 inch gives the best. I'm not sure of your rules out there but I've run a thorley tri-Y header and 2 inch exhaust with cherry bomb glass packs and I ran it out the side under my door, This thing ran like a banshee. OOOHH also upgrade your intake!!
All these suzuki motors really need is to breath easier.
I'm not sure how to post pics...Send me your e-mail and I'll send a pic of my intake set-up

i found the zorst to be the cheapest best mod on my zook yet. look around and some exhaust places will fit a 2in from extractors back for about 150. extractors definately helped on mine but not as much as the exhaust.. together though i find it accelerates smoother and has more flow in the high revs.
zuku26 - what did you do to assist your intake? pod filter?
cheers,

on my first zook I tossed a K&N filter inside the stock airbox, that worked well, then I eventually started leaving the airbox opened a bit to increase the flow in.
Now I run an open element filter (knock off k&N) and it is a hell of a lot better. If I new how to post pics I would just post one of it. You can feel the motor suck in the air quicker plus it has a nice tone to it when it sucks.

yeh i run a k&n as well. the trick is not to over oil it hey. sometimes when coming from the factory they can tend to be over zealous when oiling them.
snorkel couldnt hurt either.
