Has anyone got a schematic of a 2L diesel pump?.
From memory the stop solenoid appears to be at the back of the pump between the distributor pipes to the injectors.
Is that correct?
There are two wires there so I assume that is the stop solonoid
. There is another wire that goes to the side of the pump on the engine side. Surely you do not have to remove the pump to get to the solenoid!
Anyone know what it is?
Are there any manuals on the net anywhere?
My mate's Hiace is now going worse. it will not idle and struggles to get to 1000RPM. Still seems like a fuel blockage to me.

Hi Philip.
The idle stop solenoid is above the pipes you mention to the injectors, and after the throttle shaft, Not between the 4 outlet pipes to the injectors.
Its usually covered by a larger rubber dust cover about 1" diam which has a wire coming out the top of it going to a connector.
The wire to the back of the pump you mention is the tach pick up.
Remove the rubber dust cover carefully, undo the 8mm nut to remove the wire.
If you can, blow the area clean and free of dirt around the threaded base of it. If not just use a rag, and toothbrush.
Undo the solenoid, I use a large shifter, and gently remove, inspecte the screen thats under it for any foreign material, clean as required, fit back making sure that the plunger and spring are still in place, and havent fallen out, and refit with a new o ring.
Re it running even worse, have you checked for air in the system??
Is it sucking air from the fuel filter housing, the top seal of the pump, a bad hose connection from the tank etc??
I would suggest looking for air, you have already picked up fuel from a bucket, so from there I would start looking.
