your first impressions when lockers fitted!
your first impressions when lockers fitted!
I just fitted lockers front and rear and well i knew they made a clicking ratchet noise when doing tight turns but boy do they slap about, makes me wonder how long uni's and drive line will last!
spose its just a matter of getting used to them, when pushing the clutch in and going slow and coasting.
What did others think when theirs was first driven?

I guess mine are noisy to as it sounds like things are breaking but there not,get some weird looks from people. You will get used to the noises,as i run detroits F/R and have 2 inches of tailshaft play,Cheers Paul.
BLOWNZUK 1.3 efi,sc14 supercharger,hilux diffs,detroit lockers,stage 4 rockhopper,6 point cage,35 muddies.
ah good, i had a diff guy fit them to the centres so the backlash was right.
And i thought it was excessive play but after speaking to him today, he said yep thats how they should be and the manual says 25 degrees of play.
That and the fact i have a new heavy duty button clutch so it kicks a bit lol

I just got a lockrite fitted to the front axle on my zook about two weeks ago and the only difference i've noticed is the harder steering in tight turns. I've had a bit of racheting at times in hard 4x4 situations but other than that nothing scary, was more worried at the time about putting it on its side than the noise coming from the front diff...you sure all diff settings are right?

My first impressions with my ez-locker was
Second was, hey im on my side
, but i can drive back onto my wheels
Noise is cool, and the look on peoples faces in car parks is gold. Though the slight twitch from the rear end sometimes is a pain, but im used to it now.
