Marine battery switch

Marine battery switch
im gonna buy one of those marine battery switch like the one roothys got in the latest 4wd monthly book to hook up my duel batterys... just unsure about how to go with the wiring? do i need to run a wire from the alternator to each battery so they both get charge? do i run the wire from my starter motor to the marine switch or the crank battery? i read somewhere that you should run all leads to the switch that way when you switch it to off it is ALL off. anybody got this setup or know how it works?
how much is the marine switch? for 100 bucks u can get a solinoid which wont need you having to get in and out of the car.can also get vdrop through some of them switches.
U connect your starting battery directly to your aux battery. earth to the body on aux. check that ur starting battery has a decent earth to body though.

bout 30 bucks.. are you talking like a battery iscolator?.. for lawyers and accountants in my opinon.. just too lazy to flick a switch. plus im gonna run it into the cab... with a iscolator do you have the option to start the motor off the aux battery when your crank is flat? no! just the turn of a switch you can. also when your camping just turn the switch to battery no.2 and there is no way your crank battery can go flat. just one guys opinion anyway. each to their own. that ARB smart solenoid things are way overpriced and you dont even have full control over your battery system and your paying what like 600 bucks... i perfer 30 bucks and a few cables
im not baging your suggestions mate im just giving my opinion on the matter of iscolators.. and if you can start off the aux battery with an iscolator then it's news to me cauz i got mates who got a tjm and arb setup and neitheir of them can.i do appoligize if im wrong. unless your talking bout running a jumper lead between the two batterys.but bugger that. like i said. just one guys opinion thats all. thought thats what forums are for
