I was driving down a bouncy sand track on the weekend and when i came off the sand the 81' zook wouldnt idle . I had to hold her at 2500rpm just to stop it from stalling. I took out the plugs and put em back in, reved the crap out of it and all seemed ok.
But just my luck, this morning it dies on a small hill on a major tarred road with a school bus up my but. I was able to nurse it home in low range but it still wont move of the mark without reving the jeepers out of it. It is idling rough and low. Leads are all good etc. Any ideas guys.

Take off your air cleaner thing from the top of your carbie!
Rev the crap out of it and your hand over the carbie but try not to let it stall!(Doesn't matter if it does!)
You hand will be covered in crap and your carbie should be clean and it it should go like the clappers again!
This trick works for lots on mine!

1.0ltr vehicles are also quite old, if you're wanting to make sure its all good, pull your fuel tank out, flush it and your fuel lines, install a new filter and pump, clean or rebuild your carby.christover1 wrote:1.0 litre fuel pumps are very old, and can fail to supply a full load to the carby bowl. You'll need some mechanical skills to do the carby, everything else is pretty easy.

But all my carby troubles went away.
A new fuel tank and clean out of fuel lines.
A decent inline efi type fuel filter.
Extra filter before carby (to stop dead fuel pump bits getting into carby)
And a new fuel pump.
Only then did I bother to put a carby kit thru it.
To be safe I throw in some fuel system cleaner once in a while.
Never had an issue since.
Altho the choke mechanism stuck once, with a clean and wd 40 all was good again.
