The website has been updated. Here is the full story.
---------------------------------------------
Lifted Restriction!!!!!
The area in and around Milbrodale/Broke/Bulga has recently received a large amount of rain. This rain has been consistent and proved to be quite beneficial to the area, as well as TTC07. The area is a sight to be seen, as the land is very green. Unfortunately what has been received is not drought breaking but does provide some welcome relief, especially for the local farmers and wineries.
As a result organisers of the Tough Dog Tuff Truck (TTC) have just held discussions with the local RFS Captain and TTC property owner to assess the situation of fire restrictions that are presently in place. The RFS Captain has local jurisdiction on state fire restrictions and has advised TTC organisers that conditions have eased enough to lift the present fire restrictions that are in place.
In discussion with the property owner on the fire situation, he conveyed concerns in regards to the still dry state of the property and what effect that this may have with allowing open fires at TTC07. In light of the property owner’s concerns TTC organisers have put arrangements into place with the property owner, which are over and above the now reduced fire restrictions so as to allow patrons to have campfires, of which the details are as follows:
-All campfires whether for cooking, lighting, social or other means are too be secluded and maintained in an area of no more than one (1) metre in diameter.
-Only wood along the lines of sticks or lengths of timber are permitted for the fuelling of fires. The use of large timber objects such as chairs, complete or partially complete pallets etc. will not be allowed. Patrons wishing to bring large timber objects will be required to leave them at the entry gate or alternatively have knocked down into individual pieces prior to arriving at TTC.
In previous years of TTC, organisers have provided cut timber for Tuff Truck goers to use in fires. However, for this year’s event it was anticipated (until now) that the conditions would be much drier and very dangerous to permit open fires. So as a subsequent result organisers have not cut a stock pile of wood and time at present would not allow us to do so. The property does lend itself well to a good supply of timber for fuelling a fire and can easily be gathered.
So in summary, open fires are now permitted in an area of 1x metre in diameter. The property does have a good supply of timber which can easily be gathered, however patrons are permitted to bring their own supply of wood as long as it is just timber pieces and not large wooden objects such as chairs, pallets or whole trees etc.

Wayne, do you think they will believe you if you said those 20 pallets on the back of my ute are for stability for the drive so the ute doesnt get too light in the back???
although you did say no ute this year... drats!
a 1 metre fire is fine, we will haev bulk lights it sounds like!!
and if you were to place another 1m fire close to the other 1 m fire it would be all peachey.
The fire drum in my back yard is abit too rusty to take up there
