airbox mounting

Post by chrissuzuki »

Hi guys,

Currently doing 1.6 16 valve efi conversion on my sierra. Just after some pics of how others have mounted there airbox or other vehicle airboxs which are a better fit?

Any help would be great. Thank you.

Hey,

Take a gander at this thread;

http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/viewtopic.php?t=100149

I am using the orig vit airbox in my sierra conversion and hope to hookup a 3" snorkel as well.

I can get any more pics if needed.

Nic

I run the vit airbox as i believe the efi was set up with it and i think it runs better since i changed it (origonaly had the sierra box in there) I also run a snorkle off it.
I will try post some pics tomorrow.

OK here are some pics of the snorkle and box.
I plugged the origonal intake hole with rubber and urathane, then using exhaust tube I cut a series of slots at one end and bent a lip right round it and slipped it through a new hole in the airbox and urathened and rivetted it. The snorkle which is bolted down to a bracket on the inner gaurd is then joined to the pipe with a rubber hose and clamps.
