Post by NICK »

NICK i use constuction grade SIKAFLEX on problem beadlocks, lift the bead from the rim face and run a bead of sikaflex where the bead sits and
bolt them up, sounds a bit exteme but it does work. failing this check that the weld is not leaking from stress.

i was thinking sikaflex also, i did a visual on the welds and they seemed to be ok, i do know that it only takes the smallest whole and it is all over.

you can feel and hear the air coming out so it is a major problem.

is there any problem cracking the sikaflex when the rubber needs to be changed?

Nick i have heard that sikaflx will do the job, or you can buy some shait that stays like a liquid and as you drive it conforms to any holes ect, dont ask me what its called.

Yeah sikaflex was what I was told....
However when I did my beadlocks I just wet the tyre bead and it popped in and sealed sweet :D

nick, when i tried fitting bfg's to my JT beadlocks i found that the bead gap of the wheels was 12.5 mm and the bead thickness of the bfg's was 12.0mm and even silicon wouldn't fix that, no problems with centipedes, swampers etc.

Yeah thats what i was thinking, maybe its clamping up on the steel and not really compresing the rubber.

It may be worth while pulling them of, measure the bead and skim the face on either the ring or the rim.

Silicon would work ok if it was a slow leak, i know some guys put it on the inner bead to offer some form of resistance to rolling the inner bead off.

Tried Tubes?

Post by srowlandson »

I run Simex tubes in my Q78's on Beadlocked 16x8's, works a treat.
