I was driving on Sunday in my bog stock GQ (92 EFI petty converted to straight LPG). I turned a corner and all of a sudden it went from a nice quiet motor to sounding like a race diesel
I pulled over to check it out. Seems there was a hole in the exhaust pipe somewhere down the bottom after the exhaust manifold. I couldn't see exactly where as they are covered in shrouds etc
Took it to the muffler place today. Turns out the engine pipe had seperated from the manifold (which were badly cracked). Also the very high under bonnet temps suggested the cat was also rooted.
So $630 later, with a new set of Lukey extractors and a high flow cat it all sounds good again. Has a little more power and accelerates a lot smoother. Feels like it breathes better and has better torque.
My question is this........Is this a common thing to happen on the TB42E's ? Keeping in mind it is stock standard and doesn't do any wheeling.
