AMR300 supercharger pulley sizes

Post by Rotazuk »

Hi
I know a couple of these s/c's have been installed here and having no luck anywhere else . I have put one on a 1.6 vitara 8v . It absolutely screems its head off , tried another incase the s/c had a dud bearing etc but it was just the same . Its not drivable its that loud .
Now either the induction system is causing it or I am over driving the s/c . Would not have thought so thou . I am just running it off the p/s and a/c belt . the crank pulley is ~140 mm I think and the pulley on the s/c is ~55 mm . So thats only 3 to 1 . Engine was at 2000rpm so that makes the s/c 6000rpm .
Well within its rpm range I would have thought since it cam off a two sroke .

Any advice ?

No have not got the thing of idle ( cold idle ) yet . At this stage it screams too much to open to have it running for more than half a minute or so . Way louder than running engine with no exhaust .

Thought it may be the back pressure with the throttle closed etc but no change venting the outlet of the s/c .

Hi
Cheers read a couple of those links but one has pulley sizes I have not seen before . I have also read a post here a guy has pit one on a toyota eletric hybrid , he does a long to quieten it down .

I should be within the ball park for pulleys as they run 136mm for a 1400 cc engine etc .

Was hoping someone with one would comment on how loud there one was .

Cheers
