Post by chunkz »

okay
as a few of you know
i cracked the head
then to find their is rust all in the inside and corrosion
so total engine rebuild

now everythings done
the mechanic fitted the injector pump parasurf told me to get
which has worked on my model and others..
so para knows what he is talking about and done it many times before...

now heres the kicker
for some odd reason

my surf has nothing down low...
NOTHING
like dangerously nothing...
i have to wait for 2500rpm (turbo kicked in)
for their to be anything....
starts fine
idles fine
revs fine (in neutural)

put her in drive... slow as ducks nuts... until turbo input...

any ideas
any suggestions
anything happen to you guys

Para has said the mechanic, did everything right
toyota didnt know anything
an injector guy know nothing..

anything
please people!
i beg of you

please only post that will help, no bullshit posts

Which injector pump did you have fitted is it computer controlled or not.
Is there a lot of black smoke under load.Had problems with one last year and it was caused by one of the vsv's near the egr valve not getting power because the retainer clip on the plug was broken and it had come out this caused black smoke under load and poor acceleration.
Once the plug was fitted correctly problem solved.
This may have nothing to do with your problem but there are a few plugs on the engine that go to the ecu so it would pay to check they are all connected correctly.

from reading other threads...
people having the exact same problem
I just played dumb. it doesnt make sense that the 14yr old never rebuilt pump would behave EXACTLY the same as a brand new one out of the box if the problem was the pump "calibration".
It must have had something to do with the info it was being fed by the ECU getting bad info from a sensor etc i would guess.

either way...i dont care, i took it there to get fixed, and he fixed it so i im not complaining atall.
and

a fuel pump...

both people are saying the exact same problem as me

newly rebuilt engine
and nothing down low...

an injector specialist looked at it
toyota looked at it

parasurf spoke with my mechanic...
and mechanice has done everything right

both are stumped
