transfer cases electronic?

Post by Mr. octurbo »

well i was having a chat with my old man and he says that the new hiluxs even though they have a shifter for low/hi range its done electronically. but then he went on to say that the old hiluxs 95-96 onwards were also electronic in the changing. hope this is making since.

then he went to say the parados of the time have the same hilux running gear and thats how we got on to the whole electric shifting topic.

anyways could someone please tell me if this is true about the 95-96 hiluxs up to the last of that shape.

cheers

mat.

when you pull the stick on a prado, you engage gears, the electronic bit locks the centre diff. imilar, when you pull the stick on hilux, you move a gear but vacuum joins the front diff to the transfer via electric switches.
