How to remove paint from powder coat ???
How to remove paint from powder coat ???
I just got a set of 15X8 sunraysias but the previous owner has painted them grey-silver with an aerosol. Does anyone know a good way to remove the paint without affecting the (white)powder coat??
paint removal
Wheels are only three weeks old and not a mark on them except a light coat of paint. I paid $100 for 4 wheels. Sandblasting and recoating will cost $150-$200. Adds up to more than the cost of new wheels. If I have to I'll scuff and repaint white.... I thought seeing as original powdercoat is perfect I might be able to just remove paint. Does anyone have a solution rather than an alternative(sandblast)?fool_injected wrote:Save the farking about
Get them sandbalsted and re-powder coated
Well paint them white again
Good sandbalsters can remove just the piant layer and leave the powdercoating
Good sandbalsters = the man not the machine

I have tried this before with very messy results. I tried it again this morning with Enamel thinners instead of Acrylic. It works well. No damage to powdercoat. thanks ofr57ofr57 wrote:wouldn't thinners do the trick
