Exhaust

Post by Mattlux69 »

I got extractors and a 2" system fitted the other day and now there is a real ticking sound coming from the engine under acceleration only when the car is moving, it doesnt make it when you are stopped and just rev it. Any ideas???????

Sounds like the exhaust manifold hasnt been sealed properly using the gasket, this was the same problem that I had when I had a broken stud.

easily fixed though.

I asked the same question before, and got a unanimous response thats it's leaking exhaust manifold

Some times it's just the sound of the engine that couldn,t be heard through the old cast iron manifold.

How loud is it and is it a sharp ticking tack tack tack, or does it sound like an exhaust leak,

thanks for that struth, it doesnt sound like an exhaust leaking or a tack tack tack noise so hopefully its just engine noise
