We blew the hose into the intercooler off last night, l think 20 psi of boost is to much.

Most of our flexi joins have a cable tie joining the pipes, helps keep it all togethor.

Drafty, just curious. What's that turbo install on? Obviously it a petrol engine.
With regards to blowing off turbo hoses, the main problem here is when people don't use either a rolled bead or fully welded bead on the metal tubing so the clamp has to physically climb over over the bead. Also proper turbo clamps should be used not just worm drive clamps like are showing in your pic.

Thanks for the advice, will go and buy some different clamps. Most lips have a bead welded on them already, will do the rest soon.

The turbo is on a fuel injected 4.2L GQ petrol.

Already seen a couple of GU 3.0l td burst the OE intercoolers. They seem to run piles of boost as well as having poor quality intercoolers.
Does anyone have any info about the MAF sensors failing on these motors?

the arflow sensor fails quite ofton

finer filters will kill it quickly

aswell as any water around the sensor wiring

Drafty, veeeeerrrrrry interesting. I've thought about doing this to my GQ EFI petrol.
I see in your pic you're using a cast iron exhaust manifold. Is it one off a turbo diesel td42? And if so. Who made it and about how much? if you would know offhand.
I'd only need the exhaust manifold as I'll build my own intercooler
Regards Andrew.
ps: What engine management system are you running?
