1.8L Turbo Diesel? woohoo!
The other would be a rover of sorts.
As for repairs i still havent taken the tarp of it from XRCC but it will still have a body as with only 4events next year that may or maynot allow unregistered vehicles i want to keep it as close to registerable as possible. There are still too many other local comps and events up here to go full tube and no rego.It will be extra cab and full exo prob very similar to Adrians(POS). But a little brighter.

The Gemini Diesel option is pretty bad by itself but with a turbo shouldn't be too bad as you can spin them up abit. The Vitaras had a 2 litre diesel in them for the European market, it was a Mazda engine. You could also get them in New Zealand with their weird grey imports they seem to get. Even the Jimny is offered with a diesel in some markets. The Keltec swap is awesome, I drove it when I was over there a couple of years back, very nice gobs of torque and really nice to lug around in. He was using the 1.9 out of a late model Golf. the earlier golfs with the diesels that we got here are a different motor and weren't as good an option.
Ransom note = demand + collage
initially it was non turbo but I think he has gone turbo and he was running a manual. You can check out rocky roads site for some info unfortunatly Keltec no longer make the VW kits but they are around from various US vendors. Get in touch with oilburner form the Pirate Board he has a LWB zuk with a diesel

You could always look at the mid sized (2 to 3L) Japanese TDs that came out of the Surfs, Terranos, MUs etc... Not cheap though but late model and quite reliable engines. Most had auto boxes already and you could run dual cases if you stretch out the Zook drivetrain. I know how much you love diesels.
I had a brief look at this option and the cheapest way I found is to buy the whole car and pull the engine out yourself.
The cheapest halfcut I found was $8000
I didnt do too much more research on it though so it might be a viable option.

it is a mazda rf engine. i have fitted one approved into a sierra.. i have been approved to fit up to a 3lt td into a sierra also. the front leaf springs work fine if upgraded.
the australia zoo suzuki with the 2lt rf engine could smoke both rear tyres in fourth gear from a standing start at just off idle..
