Custom Tray

Post by Rilux »

Hey fellas,

Just about to build a new tray for my Hilux, and am just wondering what dimensions some of you guys used?

I was sorta wondering if people made the tray inline with the cab itself? Which is what I want to do, I don't want the tray sticking out the sides. And do the tyres stick out much? I did a quick measurement, even with my 205's on they seem to stick out a bit past the cab.

Just troubleshooting, thats all.

Thanks fellas.

made mine a few inches wider on each side mostly to combat the tires out the side!.. no need for stupid flares with 12.5s on 8 inch rims now!...Mine measures 1800 wide and 1500 long, it has 200 mm setback 45 degree corners at the rear and its on a dual cab lux. would get some pics but its off the car atm and down in the shed getting a respray.. will put some pics up in the next few weeks!

Mine is 1800 wide also to cover the 35x12.5" tyres without flares.
And 1700 long also with the corners cut at the back.

This shot shows how far it comes out past the cab.

I made mine the same width as the body which was 1800mm if I recall. Flares do wonders for tyres sticking out :D . I would rather tyres catching than my tray.

*edit* mine is a dual cab

Yeah I was trying to get away from the 1800 wide, I may still go 1700 tho I think. I'll take another look tomorrow anyway.

I wasnt too keen on having mine past the body either, but the guy building it did so to make sure it covered the tyres. It actually looks better than I expected it to and isnt that noticeable either.

Mine is on a dually and its not finished yet but heres some pics.

mines 1850x1950 but i just cut the last bout 450mm off the back of a standard single cab tray it sticks outpast the cab a little but not further than my scrub rails/steps hav you thought bout anngle cutting the front of the tray to stop it from catching not that i really think you'd have that problem
