rear tailgate conversion

Post by built4thrashing »

after the long and bumpy drive home the long way from jamieson i got home only to discover the top hinge had started to remove itself from the body with part of the body still atatched :x . so I decided it was time to turn it into a drop down tailgate.

Image

Ive re-used the original hinges to make things simple and all i needed to do was bolt them onto the rear body mount bolts and drill and bolt them to the tailgate. Rear latch still operates but oposite side will need some type of latch (maybee padbolt??)to hold it secure. Next is gonna be making a swing away tyre carrier. Might weld up the original hinge mounts and make a swing arm to fix to them to carry the spare.

Great idea
Now you can use it as a table when camping or just use it as a seat

mine latches with the stock latch. just needs adjusting to latch properly. easy to do just loosen screws on catch and adjust height.
