Check the air fliter first, mine started doing this and when I checked the air filter it was clogged solid with dust  . New filter fixed the problem.

Diesels, esp Nissan do blow a good haze ;)

At night refraction makes it look a lot worse than it is.

Change aircleaner and fuel filter element, they dont normally suddenly blow smoke.

If it still drives ok, economy about the same dont touch injectors yet.

take it for a run this morning is it any different??
I'd say Baz is pretty much on the coin, with possibility of a bad batch of fuel causing issues

Word of advice, from previously bitten Trol owner.
I was also told, "Service/repair/exchange injectors, air filters changed regularly, fuel filter changed out every 10,000 K's.
After spending $650 big ones, the bloody thing STILL smokes.
So all the comments being made regard injectors, must be taken with a grain of salt.
Went back to guy who did my injectors, and he sez,"gotta do the pump now, it must be at fault".
Course the price for that will be around $2,000 AND there's no guarantee the smoke will be cured. How's that for a good deal ?
When I can afford it, intend to take to Diesel Injection Service centre and get their opinion, surely they would have an idea of what's amiss ?

There is a tiny ray of light on the issue, when using BIODIESEL the smoke seems to be half as heavy as when it's DINO DIESEL.

I thought all diesels blew smoke :D

Of a day I don't notice mine, but of a night with headlights behind you it seems to be bad...
