rose joints

was looking at making my own rear trailing arms and was wondering what size rose joints other's were using.

one end will be standard bush the other rose joint, and the bar most likely crome moly. Any ideas anyone.

80 series, and money is not an issue, just want to do it right the first time.

i want to make my own links, instead of buying. I have all the gear to make nearly anything i want, so for once i am going to give it a go.

you talkin Cro Mo or 4140? As 4140 is not Cro Mo but pre tuffened high tensile

For any rig that sees street miles I wouldn't use a rose joint - they wear too quick.
Ok I'm biased, but I'd go for something like:

no metal on metal, easily rebuildable etc....

Are you able to cut left and right threads to make them easily adjustable , Cheers Paul.

I agree with Wooders, I'm running rubicon arms with the superflex joint as shown in Wooders post. In this pic the rubber bush at the chassis end hasn't even started to flex yet as the rubicon joint is doing all the work. No noise on road and easily greased etc as well as fully rebuildable.

You can just see the horizontal angle of the contro arm and all the movement in the joint. No stressing of any bushes at this point.

Give Glen Dobbin a call as he makes ones almost the same as them and you can rebuild them and they are tuff as hell.
Glen ,Peter Antanc,Phill Nobel, Athol,Chad Sheppard all run them in there Tuff Trucks and I have fitted them to some street driven trucks and they work exellent.

mate i have looked into this and if it does bind then you will need to make larger brackets and collets either side if the joint to give it room to flex. again i plan on making my own front control arms, but i will be doing the rear first. make take me about 6 months before i get to the front.
