Joel,

I believe that the dts dyno can determine driveline losses. Is this correct? How does it determine this? What happens when drivelines are altered. If so what are we loosing power wise through a gq or gu patrol diesel driveline, as well as a Landrover td5 and also a 80 or 100 series.

I travel past your door a bit, do you mind if I drop in announced one day.

Andy

Yes I hate inflated figures, I read recently about all the tips to fool the dyno on shootout days, including the probe that measure 100c + inlet air temps. Got to love people for trying though.

birddy's 307kw was made on two different dyno's on two totally different days, the day it was tuned it only made 304 on the dyno dynamics, drove it down to auto salon and it made 307 with a different dyno operator.

Yes it can Andy,

There is a setup consiting of couple of decellerations from 90 klms where the dyno automatically gathers enough data on the drive train inertia to calculate the losses.
Its pretty cool allthough the losses are often less than people would wish for.
