Ok, before anyone says search, i have for the last 3 nights but i cant really find what i am after. Basically i am after a couple of pics of how people have mounted the front mount of the sliders on a wagon, as it comes in line with the body mount brackets. The other two ive sorted, with a U shape around the chassis, also on that note what are peoples thoughts on cutting U shape out as 3 pieces and welding it into the U.
The rear bar Q is basiclly the same, is how have poeple mounted the bar back on to the chassis behind the wheel.Cause when i was looking at it the towbar was in the road of any possible mount.Have not started the rear bar yet as iam waiting for some bends to arrive to weld in.
Cheers

I can email you some pics of my steps if you pm me your email adress.
with the rear bar i didnt put a mount behind the tyre as it did not require one, which we have proved in the bush.

yeah thats the style iam using with the other 2 mounts so if i go with it for the front would it be strong enough to mount it just behind the radius arm mount
cheers

Cols sidesteps, who is the original producer for snake racing, is my mates father in law. On the weekend we were out having a play in the mud and i asked about the front mounting point and he mounted them from the gearbox crossmember as the body mount will bend if hit hard enough.
I am chasing pictures for myself on how he made them, which i should have hopefully by the weekend.
He has made about 150 sets for patrols and heard nothing but good things.
I have not finished mine yet but I made u plates using 6mm x 50mm flat plate, there are five u plates each side, might be overbuilt but it wont bend or brake in a hurry.
The bolts have a compression pipe on top of the chassis to stop them bending the chassis when they are done up tight.
Mine will have the Nissan original chrome steel checker steps bolted on top to give it a good finish you can see the step on the other side of the chassis.

i rekon ya could go another 6 or 7 mount points jcclures, or just have one big mount point with heaps of bolts in it running the length of the chassis. then, and only then, will it be strong enuf

Bronwyn Bishop does it for me.[/quote]
Well I reckon I know it wont fall of on our north Qld roads anyhow. I have made them with a jacking point each end that’s why I used 5 mounting points, but the way they are made they should not stop the chassis flexing.
