Tire Recommendations
Tire Recommendations
I scowered the forum for my answer before I chose to post. However, most tire posts seem to catered to moded trucks or with substantial lift. I have a 2005 SWB Patrol S (Y61) with no engine mods or lift whatsoever. Can someone recommend the best tires for sand use?
probably an allterrains without an overally agressive tread pattern.
with stock lift u can fit some 33's ..
so with your 16" rims i would go 305/70/16 which are bit wider or the 285/75/17

Do you need to fit flares to cover them?bwana wrote:went with these: Yokohama Geolander 275*70*16 A/T
they look pretty good on the sand. These were the biggest I could fit without rubbing. I don't want a lift, or rather don't need one in the desert; the Patrol has plenty of clearance for crests.
Thanks for all your comments.

In Australia the cops would crucify you. LOL
btw Nice Y61 shorty.
