father-in-law has a 98 soft top vitara. does anyone know of a good place to get a new soft top. anywhere in aus will do. thanx boys.

Austops at the sunshine coast.

they will be in the phone book. could be under all automotive products or austops, expect to pay around the $700 mark, these do come with the rear tailgate window, all windows are tinted and the canvas is marine grade so it will not stretch or go mouldy.

also in the suzuki section is maria? look for group buy softops.

In my 20 something years of involvement in Suzuki parts and accessories, I've had a lot to do with Suzuki soft-tops and have found the best top to be made by Classic Coachworks at Mortdale, Sydney. They make a well priced, well made top and there isn't any better top on the market (I assure you).

its a bit of a stretch, but its here if you want it and no garantee it'll fit, its a nice drive thoe,go the great ocean rd to melbourne straight up the hume till near the border then take the newel hwy through dubbo stop in at the zoo blah blah blah to far oh well good luck

I used to deal in Suzuki parts but happy to provide pointers these days.

My suggestion is not the cheapest but you'd be hard pressed to go pass an OME kit. Will only give you about 40-45mm of lift, so not quite 2" but it works well on and offroad (big heights do not usually give better offroad performance). OME front struts give a genuine extension in length as opposed to some brands that paint a standard length strut another colour in order to make it look better than a standard strut or adding an extension.

Try Nolan Warhouses http://www.nolans.com.au/asp/Adelaide.asp They supply 2 different tops one with welded seams (wont leak) and one with sewn seams (will leak) both are Bestop roof's

you asked how old it was, if i put in a box and told you it was new, you wouldn't know the difference, its like new i was going to cut it up for a bikini top but that would be a shame.

shore it fits i'll send it down but i dont have a vitara to see if its to suit a vitara, I'll put apost in th suzuki section to see if i can get some way of identifing it it, may swb pajero or rocky I'll find out

I agree. You won't get a better strut at the moment. They sell a matched system that rides well and is hassle free. Best and cheapest aren't always compatible. There are cheaper options but what do you want?
