Back with Mitsu, after almost bugging out

Post by PHIL »

It was close boys. I was on hand of selling what was left of poor old Betsy, and looking for a Toyota. :? She needed a transmission, tcase, gas tank, not to mention the body panels were rusty and floor was just replaced...etc. The old Girl owed me nothing, but she was just about out of time....

When out of the blue, I hear of a Montero for sale, in my own city! (This is quite remarkable since GenI and II Monteros were never available in Canada - this one was imported from the US). I went to see it, and the guy was convinced to take $250 for it! So I took it as a sign not to give up on my beloved Mitsus...

Current plan is to swap my motor into the LWB, after doing the valve seals, and then upgrading this machine and getting back OUT THERE!

Best Regards from Alberta, Canada

Onya Phil, and a very good decision if I do say so myself.
Hope it all turns out ok and it's a real pity about old Betsy she's given you good service.
You grow attached to a car like I am with mine and I doubt I'll ever sell it, just keep driving/modding/maintaining it until it can't go any more.
Howz things up there in Canada ? It's our spring down here so the good weather is arriving and I'm hangin to get my rig back for some action (should be 2-3 weeks).
Also how is Gordo & Pig I hope everythings ok there ?? He still owes me one of those strange winter hats you guys wear (you know the ones with the ear flaps)
Keep up the good work on the Wire, I personally very much appreciate it.

Cheers, Vic ;)
