100 Series ABS

Post by me3@neuralfibre.com »

Does anyone know in the 100 Series when the ABS is on / off. I tried mine last weekend in high range 4wd (centre locked) on dirt and the ABS was still active. I thought that once the centre diff was locked it was off.
As there is no vacuum brake booster, just the abs pressure store, I can't pull the fuse to disable the ABS when off-road.

Any thoughts appreciated

have a look on www.lcool.org The 80 series can be modded by a switch, the 100 is a little different, and i believe a switch needs to be installed to take power away from it....

Won't that kill the ABS booster pump / resovoir = no brake boost? I think that would be a bad thing. Guarantee nothing would lock up, like old fashioned abs - 4 wheel cable drum brakes - never lock them up.

No, it only disables the abs function....u can install a switch if you prefer that to the fuse....ABS is disabled in low range, where toyota thinks you wont go fast enough to need it...
