The guard is from AMV in ringwood vic, i had the guy who made my roll cage modify it to mount the damper, he did an awsome job..

Now that I've seen it I know what your on about.
The maxi bracket has to go on an angle, towards the front of the car. The "bend" in the bracket should face towards the drivers side.
Doesn't look like you need it now anyway.

Had the Maxxii for about 4 months now, so wear is neglible.
Very rare size, especially in a mud pattern.
Price was great - about $225 ea I think.
All round performance is just fine.
Grip in the bush is dandy, better than any other tyre I've had.
Rocks haven't bothered them, not like the Cooper S/T losing chunks.
Deflated - they have reasonable side biters that help when bagged out on rocks and the profile makes them akin to caterpillar tread on sand.
They make quite a whirry noise on road - doesn't bother me.
The taller profile doesn't help handling much - bit of sway on the round-a-bouts etc but I have another car for that sort of thing...

What pressure do you run them on? Im a Nissan boy, but this is my first Rover. A 1995 series 1 Discovery TDI. Came with TJM bullbar, Safari snorkel, cargo barrier, dual batteries. Ive since put 2" lifted coils, coil spacers, 2" body lift and 285/75/16 BFG All terrains on standard 16x7 rims. Also had to guard chop. Got a lot more plans too.
06 Grand Vitara Prestige, 2" lift, Kumho A/Ts, ARB winch bar, snorkel, spotties. Also a Regal 2150 LSC Volva Penta 350 gsi duoprop, and a kayak ;-)
