GU PATROL BRAKE GONE

Post by TAZ's_DATTO »

mY PATROL IS A 99 MODEL AND HAS LOST ITS BRAKES, THE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR AND IT WILL NOT STOP ANYWHERE NEAR AS QUICK AS IT DID ABOUT THREE MONTHS AGO.
ANY INPUT OR SUGGESTIONS WILL BE APPRECIATED, AS I AM AT A LOSS AS TO WHAT IS WRONG AND I DONT WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF BY SOME BRAKE GUY DOWN THE ROAD. CHEERS

UPDATE: NO LEAKS AND FLUID LEVEL IS ON MAX CONSTANTLY WITHOUT TOP UP, FLUID WAS CHANGED ON THE WEEKEND WITH NO CHANGE.

brake gone

Post by henry »

Have you checked that the brake fluid reservoir is full still? If its full you shouldnt have any leaks. If its not full have a look around each wheel for brake fluid. If its not full and theres no sign of leaks the rear seal might have gone on your brake master cylinder and the fluid will be leaking into your brake booster.
I ought to report you to the f#cking RSPCA neville.

Does the GU have a proportioning valve? If so, check that. If you've had the car lifted, it may need adjustment.
