hey ppl

i own a garmin etrex legend and was wondering if they can direct you street by street (like a sat nav)with the right software? eg.turn right in 100m

yerp mate, pretty sure they can as if its hooked to a lappy, all the voice nav is done by the software.. the GPS just provides the co-ords.

I have the same and looking for street nav software for my lappy.

It won't work as a stand alone. If you run something like freedrive on a laptop and use the Garmin as the GPS receiver, you should be able to get street by street navigation.

so are u guys saying it has to be hooked up to a laptop to direct me?
or is it possible to mark out my root on my home PC then download the waypoints and stuff to the gps and it will direct me, i dont mind if its just arrows, i dont think it has a speaker so dont think it talks.
