EGT and Zorst. Little info and help please?

Post by MyGQ »

Ok well after getting rid of my old 4.2L Gas Mav (not my choice in the matter, rollovers do tend to make you have to get a new rig) i now have a TD42 Nissan Patrol (Yay its actually a Patrol this time). Friend of mine on here has same and we are going to do our own Turbo setups by modifying stock Zorst manifolds (he's a welder by trade, so that helps, you know who you are).

OK so what i wanna know is, we are going to go a turbo setup that will give us atlease 10PSI into the engine with Intercooler (mate is gunna go Front mount, i am still undecided as to top or front, any advice here would be good)

Now i know on Petrol motors a bigger Zorst makes for more power, and for diesel i know it will help with Turbo. What i am after is, does going to a bigger zorst reduce EGT's? as i never worried about this in my old mav as it was just LPG, no turbo or nothing?

I still have stock setup on my patrol, if increasing size doesn't help reduce EGT i won't worry much about changing it, if it does, then i think i will bring on the 3" when i do the turbo.

Anyone who knows about this, and who can recommend a good turbo that won't cost the earth for it please let us know, as any advice from the patrol experts here would be much appreciated
