70mm Body lift on 60 series
I know its not quite 3"but has anyone done a 3" body lift on a 60 series. I searched and only found info on 2"lifts. I have done two 60's with 2"lifts with no problems appart from the transfer leaver. Any pitfalls or other info would be appreciated.

job done 70mm lift in
Basically the same as a 50mm lift except for the little stick. I cut a hole in the floor the same as the original except from left to right and turned the boot left to right and bent it around the floor arch (if that makes sense) seems to work a treat.

How did you go with the steering shaft? When I did my 50mm bodylift we loosened the bolt on the shaft, but it hadn't moved at all, so we just tightened it back up. Now I see that Marks sell an extension shaft. Is it needed?

It steers fine.. Under the shroud at the front of the steering box there is a slip joint like in a tailshaft that just moved itself out about 30mm.Sixty's Guy wrote:How did you go with the steering shaft? It has 3 1/2" lift HD OME springs in the rear and 2 1/2 lift in the front. when I put them in it actually lifted the rear 4 1/2" and the front 3 1/2". Its sitting on 35's in the photo's. The thing I like about it it doesn't look tall in photo's or from a distance but get close and it is huge. 2.1m to the top of the roof!!love_mud wrote:3 inches is a pretty fair lift for a BL, what size rubber are you planning on running ? That is massive for a 60. Approximately 6.5" lift in the front and 9" in the rear. Does it have longer shackles as well? Maybe it's the result of the HD OME springs. I have the extra HD springs in the front but with a bullbar, winch and dual batteries. The shackles are the anti inversion greasable OME ones but I believe they are std length. Appart from giving a bit of lift extended shackles are a waste of time!!

Yea sorry I should have elaborated.. Waste of time if fitting for flex. They can actually hinder suspension movement.Sixty's Guy wrote:Thats what they're for! unless you move the top mount on the chassis to suit it will hinder the amount of potential flex from a leaf pack. For example.. if you extend a shackle 50mm to gain flex you should move the chassis mount towards the diff 50mm. Doing this however will not give you as much lift but with the correct shock length give you heaps of down travel. You should also open up all the pack retainers to allow the pack to open up like a hand of cards. A properly set up leaf pack and shock combo can and will give more flex than coils even with std length shackles
