Brad ,

You can join Photobuket ,

http://smg.photobucket.com

upload to there then add the pics url to the post

and it will just apear :)

when you look at the pics in photobucket there are three sets of letters number at the bottom of each pic in little windows , its the bottom one you post to link it ,

Easiest way to get these is highlight the wanted address hold the ctrl key down and press c . The compute remembers this highlighted bit.
To deposit it somwhere put your curser where you want the address then hold the ctrl key and press v , bingo it apears .

Just interested in what is actually failing on these , what type of actuation is used , ect .

If all else fails just email the pics thanks Brad .

There's a left housing a right housing a clutch pack in each housing side gears that sit in the clutch packs that are splined and a tensioner spring assembly in the middle of the spider gear cross shaft. The spring in the middle is what governs the amount of "slip" the trouble with these units is that when every thing gets a bit worn they just stop working. You can add shims to the clutch packs roughen up the clutch plates and shim or renew the center spring but you'll end up wondering why you bothered because no matter what you do to a Toyota LSD sooner rather than later it will stop working.

Hey Larry

I think i may have an old lsd sitting in the shed you can have to look at, from memory the outside is a bit chewed but all internals are ok/there.

I pulled it apart to shim it up... i had to put 1.2mm either side of the lsd clutches to make them work, but it worked well then.
