t cases
if for a 1.3
externally no difference to a 1.3 NT case. differs from a WT one only by the flanges. best way is to spin the input shaft and work out the ratios.
both have 4wd lights if u have the right 1L case.

Have a look in the bible - there is a link to a UK site that has photos of all (and I mean ALL!!) sierra cases.
1.0 flanges are smaller than 1.3 NT. Other than that, there are two styles of 1.0 case, "shift light" and "non shift light"
The shift light cases are very similar to 1.3 NT cases and can be fitted with rockhopper gearsets
the non shift light cases are quite different - even the shifter isn't interchangeable. These are less desirable as reduction gears (apparently) don't fit and they have smaller shaft sizes.

this is the spare case i got with my latest purchase... have been told by a reliable source it has s1 gears inside.. yet to actually open it up.. any way of determining exactly what gears are in there? will they be labled? or am i best to be turning input and counting output?!?

Count the one in your car by turning input once and then count output , then do the same , stage one is about 12-12.5% more. If you do open some of the early stage 1's had a circlip holding on the centre gear , then went to a one piece when they went offshore , Cheers Paul.
BLOWNZUK 1.3 efi,sc14 supercharger,hilux diffs,detroit lockers,stage 4 rockhopper,6 point cage,35 muddies.
so that being said.. one complete revolution of the input would be 12% say 1/8 of a turn aprox of the output?MART wrote:Count the one in your car by turning input once and then count output , then do the same , stage one is about 12-12.5% more. If I do open it up... its not advised?? i dont mind gettin a little dirty.. just as long as nothing is going to explode on me with springs and so forth lol.. will take pics of it as I operate..
In regards to made in Aus or Made OS.. is either better than the other? anything to be aware of? certain breakages/faults with one and not the other?? apperently i have to change the yokes over... im dial up and CBF waiting for the bible link to open! anyone feeling less lazy and want to ID my Box!?

Put it in low range, tie a bit of string through one of the holes on one of the lower d/shaft flanges, then sit it so it wraps around the T/case side of the flange when you spin the top flange. If you end up with the string wrapped around the flange two and a bit times, it is a normal gear set, if you have it wrapped around the flange 4 and a bit times it's a series one, almost 5 time's a series two etc.
Dont worry if it is a one piece two piece etc, just bolt in and drive it.
