Noice in the back

Noice in the back
Have developed a rumbeling noice in the back of my 93 GLS SWB whilst driving in 2wd. When sound starts the car shudders a bit and it seems as if it slows down a bit. When switching to 4wd the sound dissapears. Has anyone got an idea of what could cause this?
Finally found out what made the noise. It did not come from the back but from the front. At the last MOT inspection the garage suggested they replace a CV boot. In doing so they dropped the needle bearing in the steering knuckle. They must be right arsheads as they said that the ABS censor would be damaged when taking out the drive shaft and needed replacement. Took me 45 minutes to get the shaft replaced and new bearing installed. Will never take the old paj back to that place
