Hi am new to fourby's, i am 21 years old and not mechanically minded at all, so please dont laugh at the stupid questions i put on the forum, but i have to start somewhere and why not here
I have a 96 series 2 sx feroza wide track dead stock, but am getting a mrt exhaust and ram pod put in in a couple of weeks. I was just enquiring about where in brisbane i could get a two inch body lift land how much (labour included) wihtout just going to tjm or arb. I am a uni student so mods will be going onto it slowly. Also can you get lockers at all, if not what do you have to do to get some mechanically to your car.
James (RocknFeroza) is from your neck of the woods and may be able to recommend somewhere to get the work done.
Lockers aren't made to suit Ferozas. There are a few threads in the forum on the subject; a rear LSD was a factory option but very hard to find from wreckers. A lot of people weld their front diffs solid ("Lincoln lockers").
there are 2 people that i know of who has lockers for their daihatsu.. an they have GOLD!.... so dont get ur hopes up about them lockers... lol. an do check out the faq for more info. great place to figure out whats what an so on. welcome aboard.

NewbieFeroza... body lift kit and installation will set you back about $800 to $900.
Better off starting with a suspension lift for about $1300 fitted and no engineer's certificate required. Later if you still want to do a body lift then go for it. Just my opinion...
Gettin the body lift blocks for xmas from the wife and fitting over the break... gonna forget about the engineer's certificate... I'll just wait and see if I get pulled over.... then I might look into getting it.

Two years ago i paid 14000 with 60 000 kms on the clock, mint condition with bull bar, side steps, tow bar, cd and all the power options, it was in excellent condition, but since then i have hit a tree and the bull bar has a huge bend in it
Yup good price, I paid $15,000 for mine almost 2 years ago... 107,000 km's with suspension lift, steel rims, running 31's and a nudge bar...

Just saw that.... you need to go around the trees mate.
I took mine to Stockton Beach near Newcastle 5 days after I got mine and smashed the front end on mine after going off the top of a 12 foot sand dune.
$3,800 worth of damage. Car was under covernote and the insurance coy paid the claim! Best thing was they never requested the premium so I got free insurance for the whole year!!!
They then tried to get the premium from me 12 mnths later and my response......

I'd say save a bit and go the suspension lift to start with. I did the body lift with just myself and a friend. Cost was about $200-$300 for all the parts and a few hours to do...bumpers are still not lifted (yet hehe).

for suspension, go to On Track 4wd Centre at Moss Street in Springwood - They did mine and were really helpful. Dont get the TJM kit outright though - it is too hard..... looking at about 1000 - 1200 for custom rear leaves and TJM shocks all round. Have a chat about shocks and see what else they can recommend. Koni's would be the go.
I have some tyres for sale too... $1000 30 x 9.5 BFG muddies x5 on 15 x 7 sunnies ----- or $800 for a clean swap with your std rims and roadworthy tyres!!!!!!!!!
Welcome aboard. Good to see another Brisbane local has got himself one of them Daihatsu things with 4 wheels. Reckon us Brisbanites must be up there with the other capital cities now.
While you're at Springwood try TSR (the shock absorber reconditioners) at 18 Aranda St Slacks Creek. They specialise in racing car suspensions but have done quite a few Daihatsu's in their time.
I got 2 new front King springs with new bushes etc and 4 Koni long travel shockies for $1100 fitted about 12 months ago.
They really know their stuff and I would recommend them.
The guy who owns the place has a 4WD so knows what is best for us.
Just a note on the Koni's- they no longer make any to fit a Feroza in standard length off the shelf. The only way to get them is to find a distributor and get some custom made ones done. They'll usually want your old shocks for a while too.

Hey thats alright! I'll have to confer with the guys as to what hte best way to go is. I am not to keen on the idea of having hte money drawn down and sitting in the account and then having to make payments and pay interest on it if I can't find anything for a while. Chances are I will have to find something, then have the money drawn down then pay for it.
