gq cv type

Post by Zac Zec »

does anybody know the difference between the cv and axle on a coil sprung diff or the leaf sprung diff :?:
I went to replace my short axle and cv (snaped the axle the other weekend) and when i put the cv in and did the stub axle up, it put that much pressure on the cv that i was unable to turn it :x Brass washer is on the right way and everything else appears to be fine.
Didnt even think of coil/leaf cv differences at the time. Some one mentioned it and it seems to make sense.
Is the cv the same and the axle different, vica versa or both :?: :?:

Cheers

Not that sure, but I have heard that early leaf sprung GQs had MQ diffs under them which would have different CVs.

I also have heard of the differences but have never found the true answer to that question and i've been doing cv's for 12 years!

Can you let me know how you get on?
