my feroza, after pushing in the clutch to change gears 1st 2nd 3rd has a small detenation strate after puching the clutch in and befor letting the clutch out. doe,s anyboddy no what it could be, or making it happen, apart from that it goe,s great, by the way fixed the other problem it was sprak plugs plus leads and timing

detenation is usually caused by incorrectly adjusted timing, or not enough fuel. if your car is standard then i would say it would be the timing your mechanic should be able to rectify for under $50 or anyone that has a timing light, it take 5 mins to do

its like when you go up in gears only not down, and when you go to change gears as the clutch goes in to change up a gear is when it hapens its a small like detenation that happens it just gives me the shits . and the sound comes from the back of the exhust. not from the moter end

If it was detonation you would hear it from the motor- not the rear of the exhaust. Sounds like you might be hearing something else?

Do you mean like a small explosion / popping noise out the tail pipe- like from too much fuel and it getting ignited in the exhaust?

Maybe is the rubber bolt that hold the end of the exhaust with the car. Try to go with 5 gear and fast to check out if the exhaust makes any weird noise.

Sounds like its backfiring. Mine does it, combined with the sports exhaust... I like it!! :)

My turboed Silvia does it as well, because I have a blow-off valve that causes the mixtures to be messed up when you back off the throttle.

o kay sounds a bit like what you said murcod. plus if it is to mutch feul how do you fix that, with out a big expence, thanks.

Try checking the "dash pot", see if it is working and adjusted correctly. It's a little diaphragm type thingy that stops the throttle closing quickly when you lift off the accelerator- the closing throttle hits it and then the dash pot slowly compresses and allows the throttle to close. It's loctaed on the throttle body. ;)

My favorite Feroza hate - the Throttle position switches can also be guilty
of this. They are suppose to shut of fuel on engine overun and change
strategy at closed throttle. If they don't operate properly - and the often
don't they can affect things like you say.

Easy to test - look in the EFI section of the manual.
