my sons drover has got a big rattle in it it happened after over reving and lossing oil pressure any ideas :armsup:

i have a 1 litre that was rattling really badly on ildle and evan worse when u rev it it, it is only a parts car so i reved the crap out of it and the rattle went quieter because it cracked the side of the engine block off and oil blows out of it (it evan still runs) not very well tho. so if i was u i would get it looked at b4 to much damage is done

another engine unless brought new would be abit of an unknown IMO.

cheapest way is treat a zook with respect and it wouldnt happen,if u wana flog something flog a nissan and toyota apprently they are unbreakable

:rofl: hahaha well said. Cheapest way would be to throw the old motor in the bin, and pick up a second hand motor, i have seen them for $200.

It's hard to over rev a push bike.

You can buy a nice pushy for the price of a reco sierra motor. Tell your son he is saving the planet.

Seriously though, don't bother with a rebuild, you'll put heaps of time and $$$ into it and it sounds like he will blow it anyway- trying to tell him to run it in nicely etc will be a waste - Just throw cheap secondhand motors in it they are already loose so they shoudld take a rev.

PS, there are some ignition cut rev limiters available for carby cars - could be worth a look :D

Layto is correct.. There is a simple kit available from Jaycar electronics. It is adjustable, will work with electronic or points ignitions, 2 or 4 stroke, 1 to 12 cylinders. Kit # KC-5265 $34.95 Recommended install box $7.30
Note*** Must be used with KC-5255 immobiliser kit..
