Won't budge... Using filter tool as well just doesn't seem to want to budge

cold chisel and hammer, dont hit too hard though or you could bend the housing.

Just work away at several points around the rim of it.

thats how i got mine off after the engine rebuild, dude must have put it on with a shifter or something.

Go get a can of spinach and harden up you sook :D

Failing that, as a last resort, and you wanna make sure it works :lol: , get a LONG screwdriver, drive it through the middle of the filter, and then use the screwdriver as leverage and twist.

X2 or take the housing off from the firewall as well and stick in vice. Worked for me once :armsup:

Yeah they can be a pain to a pain to get off, I had to spear it with a screwdriver to get mine off as well.

Somtimes get ya hammer and tap around the filter as u try un doing it and try brake the seal if that makes sense ... i might be wrong :oops:

Yep, works well if needed... I did it to an oil filter once too :D

Just hope you can get it off once there's a hole in it :rofl:

What kind of filter tool are you using? Strap or metal one? A filter strap with a 1/2" ratchet should do it no problems, and if it slips you need to be tighterererer.

If you dont mind f'ing the filter hammer a screwdriver into side and turn. without knowing what filter it is. Had to do this to an oil filter that some dingbat did up to tight.

before putting the new ones one smear the orings with grease on fuel and oil filters makes it easier to get of next time

This is what I did to get mine off! It was on that tight that when I had pierced it with the screw driver and was unwinding it, it was tearing the filter and not turning. Luckily it finally budged and I was able to remove it.
