Hmmm, I thought it might be fun to play "spot the deliberate mistake"with this car but I stopped counting at 50

My God what a mess. Unfortunately, this car did not crash and write itself off. The fact that clearly the owner of this car drove this car possibly on the same roads I was also driving on at the same time makes me very very concerned.

did anyone see the front shackles

I am tempted to buy it to ensure that it goes straight to simms metal.

I think it might make a great shooting car - they new owner could just shoot themselves for buying such a pile of poo.

Bugger Its an automatic! How disappointing otherwise it looks like the perfect car!

OR NOT!
How the hell did that thing ever get registered, friends in high places? I know its victoria and they seem to have relaxed rules down there, but that relaxed? How long would standard Sierra running gear last with that sort of power and torque going through it? Its might just be worth $3000 in parts, depending on how trashed it is!
Wheeling on completely wicked angles, without even looking stable.

Simple, buy a stock car and don't let the reg lapse... do what ever you want, drive it around and hope you don't get a canary.

You could probably get it engineered in NSW though, from what I have seen :D

Please don't think this is representative of Vic cars though

well I'm guessing the V8 has never been part of the registration process. He's just done the conversion and kept the rego up without the an inspection or engineers report. There is no way it would ever be legal in Vic with a V8

Really dude, have a listen to yourself - Melton - south or north - it's like the difference from a caravan with or without a ensuite in the same van park.

yeah it's a bit rough. Dangerous yeah, but I give him the thumbs up for whakin a dirty great turbo v8 in a sierra! I mean, if you took it and cleaned it up, fixed those shackels you could have a pretty awsome vehicle.

*rant on*

NOOOOOOOOOOO :bad-words: If this gets the thumbs up, what gets the thumbs down? If you cleaned it up and took the shackles off if it you would still have a dangerous bad idea. That front diff will be way past its maxiumum load rating even before you figure putting any power thorugh it, and the whole driveline after the T400 was designed for 36kw.

If you had the skills to take the shackles off and clean it up you would have the skills to build a car better than this

My LWB is very capable for a car with an open front diff and stock 36kw. What can't everyone understand that more power doesn't neccessarily make a car more capable?

I would almost accept a rover V8 in a sierra as these are light, low revving and don't make much power. With wider, stronger diffs, it could be ok, but there is nothing right about this pile of crap and never will be.

*rant off*

Steve.

PS the motor isn't turbo, the gearbox is a "turbo 400" common mistake when reading "308 V8 turbo 400 auto gearbox....."

The shackles may look like sh!t but would think they work very will

Yes it is a V8 but at lest It would not be reving off it's head up a hill climes like most zooks I see

Yep. revs are clearly the problem with zuks. I hate it when they do that, especially up hills.

I though about building some even longer scissor shackles than these, but couldn't stop the front and rear shackles meeting in the middle of the car. they rattled really annoyingly. Was going to have some some crazy flex though.

Maybe you need to buy this car.

Yep, good call Guy... I'll just have to get welding then...

Arc welder, damp rods.... check
assortment of ungraded bolts, none matching..... check
an old gate from the farm..... check
an oxy torch..... check

Time to make me some shackles!

Oh, I watched myth busters last night and that small block revved heaps harder with mothballs in the tank, so i'll have to get me some of them to make mah zook rev plenty on dem hills too.

point taken, after all it wouldn't be a zook after a while would it?

What i meant was, (the idiodic danger of it aside), I think its a fair effort to put a 308 in a sierra and something different. Mabey he was bored. The rest of the vehicle i don't know. And yes i agree that offroad power is not the be all and end all, but it doesn't hurt. At the end of the day to get it all working it would probably be more toyota than suzuki, defeats the purpose i guess.
