4JG2 Swap, Tranny Question

Post by rodeoclown »

I am researching the drivetrain options for swapping an Isuzu 4JG2 diesel into a '99 Rodeo. From what I have read this motor had the AW30-40LE auto tranny behind it. What I am trying to find out is what the bolt pattern from the bellhousing to the tranny looks like. My goal is to bolt a Toyota A340F or Jeep AW4 tranny to the 3.1.

Any pictures or info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Rich

Nope, no engine yet. I don't even have the rig to swap it into yet. I am just doing research to try and figure out some of the bugs before I get started. Thanks for the offer though. :D

Would you happen to know if I could bolt a Toyota A340F to the Isuzu bellhousing for the 3.1TD?

I would suspect they would bolt up but the shafts would have different spline counts and different lengths.
Go hard or go home!!!

I am picking up a '99 Rodeo. It has a rod knock that I'm going to fix so that I can wheel it until I get the motor and stuff ready. Should be a fun swap.

if thats true then the 5 speed supra box will fit it aswell, and if the 5 speed supra box fits it then does that mean that the cressida engine will fit the isuzu mu 5 speed gearbox?, cause if it does the it may be possible to put a lexus v8 in with an adaptor plate which are more common, lexus v8-supra w58 box. means lexus v8 - w58 adaptor - isuzu mu gearbox.... or better yet a 1jz-gte :P
