Winch Rule Changes to ARB XWC & EFS XI

Post by XTREME MMM »

D :D :D

Just a very quick one.

To those that have seen the speed of the "Spirit Winches" and are thinking of building & using one at the ARB XWC or EFS XI.

DON'T!!!!!!!!

" The use of PTO winches is allowed as long as they have an automatic braking device. PTO winches must be a known brand etc Thomas or Toyota. Must use original worm & gear drive, no pinion & crown wheel"

This wording is only very basic. Correct wording will appear in Xtreme Rule & Guideline book by Round 2.

Cheers

Hi Shane, mate you must have been reading my mind. As you would have seen I have edited my first post.

So the answer is NO! One of my main concerns was safety when I came to this discission.

At least everyone has prior warning.

Cheers

Do you think it would even be worth doing it nearly all of your stuff is tight and short and steep i didn't even see Kim only use his PTO twice last year at the XI.When I asked him he said the gearing wasn't right for that terrain it's better in mud. But the winchstage up killamenavigater in last XI night stage Iam sure Bob would have loved one. :D
