Shifting between high and low range

Post by Graham Stirling »

I'm new to Landcruisers so this might seem a stupid question.

I have uk spec '93 4.2 auto and have fitted the center diff lock dash switch. I'm also going to do the 7 pin mod so that i have a completly manual CDL.

I was wondering if, once i've done the 7 pin mod, is there anything stopping me shifting between low and high range on the move. I'm mainly thinking that it would be handy to be able to get going in low with a trailer on a steep uphill and change into high once i've got momentum going.

Also, can i engage the CDL on the move or will i do damage. Cheers, G

Locking the CDL on the move should be ok but deffinatelly not low to high or vise versa.
