Has any one put bigger diffs in a hilux (coil)???

Pipes... given that you have an 80 series front... why not stick with an 80 series rear... or will the offset stuff your driveline angles? The only bad thing about a patrol rear end IMHO is semi-floating axles... wheel bearings are $180 a pop per side.

Yes I am going to put a 80 in the rear now since Ive busted two diff centres in less than a year. First I busted the spinder gears & this week I took three teeth off the crown. So a bigger diff for me. I was going to coil the rear in two months anyway. Now this just makes my do it properly. So after its all done I'll have 80 front, air lockered(out of the rear), super longfield axles, slotted rotors & harder springs (OME too soft). By using the short shafts on each side does that make the wheel width the same as standard. How did you go with getting engineered.

i got standard housings and prado centres in my diffs (heaps bigger/stronger crownwheel and pinion. i run a air lokka front and lock rite rear...

Is a Prado diff really stronger than a Hilux? I don't know, that's why I ask, but I thought they were about the same strength.
If that's the case, swapping in a Prado axle might be a nice way to get a bit more strength, extra width and disc brakes.

yeh they are a 8" but the 4.88 ratio i put in had a bigger crownwheel/pinion but the centres were reco'd so maybe the gears were swapped with some thing else, they run bigger bearings and a stronger housing.
