Narva "Plus 50" globes

Has anyone ever tried these, and do they really produce much more light than standard globes of the same wattage?

I have a pair of H4's, fitted the plus 50's at the same time very bright and a great beam. Cant say how much brighter the +50's are on their own, because I only have the candle powered lucas's to compare to

yeah there a good light as i have them in my maverick and after using them i wouldnt go back to standard globes.They have been in the car for about 2 years now and havent had any problems with them.

Hi chimpboy, when I first got my RR, I was for ever blowing the low beam globes. Low, High and the Fog are all H7 globes.

I tried the Narva +50 globes, hoping to increase the light as well as improve life span.

I don’t know about the life span but there was no noticeable difference in light and one of my customers talked me into trying the Philips Crystal Vision globes and after trying them that night after I fitted them, I went back the next day and replaced not only the all the H7 headlight globes I replaced all 6 driving light H3 globes.

With 10 lights and I do a lot of night driving, I have, after nearly 4 years of use, only had to replace 2 globes and the light is WHITE and fantastic.

To give you an idea of the colour, these were taken on Fraser Island just before dawn.

Hmm, I think you've just about put me off them. I might just upgrade the wiring and replace the sealed beams with H4/H1 (it's a four headlight setup), and either get the higher wattage el cheapo globes for now or just stick with the 60/55W ones that come with the new headlights. I have one dead high beam at the moment and I'm redoing a bit of wiring in the engine bay so I thought I'd replace all four headlights.

Me@neuralfibre: I'm a bit iffy on HID; firstly I don't think they are legal as an add-on to an old car, and also they are still a bit pricey for my liking.

Hi chimpboy, as you have already decided to upgrade the wiring, do just that before you buy new globes.

You will be surprised at how much brighter your existing globes will be and may not need new globes.

Thanks... I agree and I'd leave the existing lamps in place except that I want to include H4/H1 plugs when I set up the new loom.

HIR ain't HID

Personally owning both, I would go HID in the headlights and the warmest light I could - 4300K. Doesn't stand out. Mate has the H4 with solenoid and it works fine.

Interesting... I would need to find some 5 3/4" headlight inserts that can take HB4 or HB3 though, which might be a bit of a stretch.

I like the sound of those HIR lights though.

weve fitted a lot of the phillips blue globes at work and heard nothing but good things. its well worth rewireing the lights, after i did mine with upgraded globes, they were as good as my hella spotlights

I farkin HATE Blue globes, of any brand. I find they give WORSE vision than any half decent white globe.

The blurb on the + 50's was obviously written by a second-year marketing maggot who thought they had some in-depth electronics and physics background who somehow managed to convince the knobs up the chain to let them write that sh!t.
